This is one of the case where Windows Update went sour, very sour for me indeed because greatly affect me and my line-of-work.
Refer to this KB3005628, who (unlucky) installed KB2966827 or KB2966828 yet not enabled .NET3.5, you will be having difficulties in enabling the .NET3.5 features and thus impact lots of other functionality whereby SQL not able to proceed, some tools not able to run without .NET3.5.
Fix is simple, uninstalled the two botched update, KB2966827 & KB2966828. Restart your PC / Server and try to enable .NET3.5 feature again.

Now, I have to be honest that among all the Microsoft System Center products, System Centre Data Protection Manager (SCDPM) is the low-activity, if not least, attention product.
What can possibly this become a problem, you ask? Limited resources to be refer to whenever something horrible happened to it and decided to be in a non-functional state, and I always have this problem eventually contact with Microsoft Support for lots more tedious process all over.
What could be nicer? Here Microsoft starting to change the way they published KnowledgeBase (KB) article, now it includes with walkthrough method on troubleshoot problem you may face. Below is one of the example of this, and it is nice to have.
Guided Walkthrough for Troubleshooting Data Protection Manager console issues
Good Job Microsoft, and hopefully more similar KB to come and much stable product on vNEXT.

[UPDATE : This only works for build 9841. Any newer build (Current : 9860) not applicable by below instruction.]
Without further checking, I had perform in-place upgrade of my current Win8.1 Enterprise into Windows 10 for Enterprise Technical Preview!
But straight away my Hyper-V VM failed to turn on with error, Synthetic SCSI Controller has no permission to access. This was due to Dedup-ed volume is not accessible without first enabling Deduplication on that particular volume.
A quick browse to 365lab.net quickly returned the method to enable Deduplication in Windows 10! Again, big thanks to Author Johan for these files.
Download the files from OneDrive and extract with 7-zip, and run following command in PowerShell.
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-VdsInterop-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.4.9841.0.cab /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-VdsInterop-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~6.4.9841.0.cab /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-FileServer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.4.9841.0.cab /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-FileServer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~6.4.9841.0.cab /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-Dedup-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.4.9841.0.cab /packagepath:Microsoft-Windows-Dedup-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~6.4.9841.0.cab
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:Dedup-Core /all
Right after this would be the usual command to enable Deduplication features on volume:
#Enable Deduplication for a specific volume
Enable-DedupVolume -Volume D:
#Enable Deduplication for open files
Set-DedupVolume -Volume D: -OptimizeInUseFiles
#Force a Deduplication job on the volume
Start-DedupJob -Volume D: -Type Optimization
#Check deduplication status on the volume
Get-DedupVolume -Volume D:
That’s it! Enjoy.

Its been a while since I last updated this Blog, lack of motivation and career’s load been having this blog stalled. But here’s we go again.
To give the blog a fresh start, I had decided to move this blog out from Malaysia’s Service Provider, Exabytes and up to the Microsoft Azure Cloud!
Hopefully this gives a speed boost!

There is a lot of reasons why one should deployment WordPress individually instead of accessing blog with WordPress.com. Further strengthen the reason is that Azure Web Sites giving free hosting to startup blogger, and grow as more traffic generated over the time.
